ALS SoCal will notify applicants for master classes and recitals of the outcome of their application by November 1, 2023.

Instructions for Participants

Repertoire: While the repertoire for master classes and recitals is not limited to the music of Liszt, works by Liszt will be given priority when selecting recital and master class performers. Repertoire for all recitals and master classes is restricted to memorized solo works only.

** Applicants to perform in the Master class, Recitals, and Improvisation workshop must upload a video recording of a recent UNEDITED performance of the submitted Festival piece to YouTube.com, vimeo.com, or other preferred video-sharing website, and submit the link embedded in the application email to be reviewed and approved by the ALS SoCal Board for admission to participate in ALS SoCal Festival.

The master class will be 2 hours, with 4 students performing works up to 10 minutes in length, (longer repertoire acceptable but subject to cuts).

The pre-college and college recitals will last up to 90 minutes each, with works under 10 minutes preferred.

There will be two prizes given at the end of the second day of the festival:
