Dr. Park stands as a distinguished Korean-American solo pianist, chamber musician, and educator. He clinched the esteemed First Prize in the Joanna Hodges International Piano Competition, which is presently recognized as the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition. His exceptional talents were acknowledged with a U.S. presidential award from President Obama in 2016, and in 2017, he attained the esteemed title of Shigeru Kawai Artist.

Presently, Dr. Park holds the role of Assistant Professor at Azusa Pacific University and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Fullerton College. His association with the distinguished title of Shigeru Kawai Artist continued. He additionally serves as the Artistic Director at the International Association of Professional Music Teachers(IAPMT), holds the role of “Artist-Teacher” at Pasadena Conservatory of Music, and participates on the Board of Directors for the American Liszt Society of Southern California. Dr. Park’s pedagogical endeavors have extended to Idyllwild Arts Academy, Los Angeles City College, and USC Thornton School of Music, where he initially served as a first lecturer.

Dr. Park’s performances have graced prestigious venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, La Mirada Theatre, Pasadena Pacific Civic Auditorium, McCallum Theatre, Marsee Auditorium, Scottish Auditorium, Wilshire Ebell Theater, Barrett Hall at PCM, Muckenthaler Art Center, President Nixon’s Library, Zipper Hall, Thayer Hall at Colburn, Pasadena Public Library, Fullerton Public Library, Idyllwild Arts Concert Hall, UCLA Concert Hall, Azusa Pacific University Munson Hall, Fullerton College Theatre and Recital Hall, Cal Lutheran University, Cal Baptist University, Biola University, Tainan University Concert Hall, USC Concert Hall, Gunsan National Univerwity, Jeonbuk National University, and numerous churches.

A dedicated chamber musician, Dr. Park takes his musical talents around the world with his ensemble, the Park Trio. He has been invited to collaborate with El Camino College/CTS Orchestra, OMC Orchestra, ICO Orchestra, and Dosan Philharmonic Orchestra. Dr. Park’s influence extends to private studio teaching in Fullerton, Orange County, where his students have reaped success in various national competitions.

Dr. Park’s impact also reaches beyond borders, as he is sought after to conduct masterclasses and lectures in Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the U.S. He takes on the role of Chairperson for the MTNA Annual Evaluation and Sonata/Sonatina competition, and he contributes his expertise as a judge in competitions including IAPMT, SATORI, Steinway, IPPA, Lansum Competition, SYMF, and MTAC events.

In the summer months, Dr. Park engages in educational activities, serving as faculty at Montecito International Music Festival, John Perry Academy of Music, Lansum Music Festival, Conero Festival in Italy, ASIA International Piano Academy & Festival in Korea, and Idyllwild Summer Program. A multi-faceted artist, he leads as the Music Director at New Life Vision Church, conducts the Montecito International Music Festival Youth Orchestra and CTS Chamber Group, and directs the Laguna Road School Choir.

Dr. Park’s musical legacy is further cemented by his recordings. He has contributed to a recording of Saint-Saëns’ “Carnival of the Animals” with the Idyllwild Chamber Orchestra, aimed at children worldwide. Moreover, his chamber group, the Park Trio, released a Christian CD titled “priere.”

Dr. Park’s journey in music commenced under the tutelage of Nelms McKelvain at the Idyllwild Arts Academy. He proceeded to complete his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees at the University of Southern California, studying with the renowned pianist John Perry.

His students have garnered accolades in various international, national, and local competitions, including the Hong Kong International Competition, Los Angeles Liszt International Piano Competition, Seattle International Piano Competition, and many others. Additionally, his students have secured positions at eminent conservatories and universities worldwide, further underlining Dr. Park’s profound influence in the realm of music education.
